The massive forest features five wilderness areas, two mountain ranges, two ski areas in the wintertime, 66 campgrounds, and over 700,000 acres of land. Joshua Tree National Park is the closest to the city of Ontario and can be easily reached in as little as 90 minutes’ drive. There is much to do at this magical little blending of desert ecosystems and otherworldly rock formations, such as hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding, stargazing, fishing, and especially camping. Don’t forget to check out Death Valley National Park , Kings Canyon National Park , and Sequoia National Park , none of which are too far away, and all very accessible in an Ontario camper rental.
