Lake Tahoe is only a short drive away when you get a motorhome rental in Coleville, and it's one of the best places to cool off on a hot summer day. You might also consider visiting Yosemite National Park, one of the most popular national parks in the country and a crown jewel in the Sierra Nevada range. The hiking and camping options are nearly limitless in this 750,000-acre park, but a climb up the famed Half Dome rock formation is on many tourists' itineraries. You’ll need to reserve a climbing slot far in advance, as this area is crowded throughout the summer. If you’d prefer a more low-key outdoor activity closer to Coleville, there’s also the Buckeye Hot Spring just outside of Bridgeport. Three steamy rock pools give visitors the opportunity to relax in the therapeutic waters while still having some great views of the surrounding mountains. If you dislike the overly developed nature of most hot springs, which are little more than hot water being pumped into a swimming pool, you’ll love all-natural Buckeye.
