When you book an RV in Monroe, you will have access to so many unique sites. The area is fairly rural, so you may have to drive a ways to reach some attractions, but the journey will be worth it! Capital Reef National Park features the Waterpocket Fold, also called "a wrinkle in the earth." Basically, a geologic uplift caused some really unique rock formations here! Hiking is the primary activity available at this site. Due to its secluded location, it is also known for stargazing. Fremont Indian State Park is located around 15 miles to the west, in Sevier, Utah. The park offers hiking, camping and caves to explore, as well as picnicking opportunities. It also features petroglyphs available to view and a museum that discusses the history and culture of the ancient people that first made their homes here. One of these is Newspaper Rock, a large rock covered in what is thought to be one of the largest collections of petroglyphs. There are several national forests nearby, including Fish Lake and Manti-La Sal National Forests. All offer opportunities for hiking, camping, scenic drives, and winter sports. Please note, due to the altitude of some of these locations, their winter seasons may be more severe and will likely last longer than in the lower elevations. Access to the various areas of the forests will also be weather-dependent (both for mud and snow). Please check with local rangers for current conditions.
