Oxford, AL is the rare town that is actually in two different counties. It lies in Calhoun and Talladega counties. Located in eastern Alabama, it has the hot summers and mild winters that are typical of Alabama. Daytime high temperatures in the summer can reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The town of Oxford was named for a narrowing in the Choccolocco Creek that allowed farmers to ford their cattle across. So, it could be a good idea to visit the creek that gave the town its name. Choccolocco Park is a wooded park built along the creek. There are hiking trails as well as picnic areas. There’s also a playground for children.

Eastern Alabama has no shortage of history, including natural history. The Anniston Museum of Natural History could be a good place to begin an adventure. Visitors will be able to explore natural cave formations as well. One can expect to spend over two hours at this museum so don't forget to pack snacks for the kiddos.

We camped at Cheaha State Park in Alabama the week of Thanksgiving. The RV was great. We had lots of room and it was stocked with everything we needed for our trip. (Even extra blankets as the temps dropped into the twenties at night1) Justin and his wife were fantastic and helped us through the process as we had never rented an RV before. They answered every message I sent them and every question. They are absolutely the BEST and went above and beyond to assure we had a great trip and a wonderful Thanksgiving!

TT was just as listed. Early setup and perfect timing of delivery and take down.
RV functioned well. We had no internet or cell service in Cheaha State Park! We did watch a couple of DVDs. Kitchen could use some more pots and pans, our only need not completely filled. James was great and punctual, Great Communication. Thanks!
