A California beach vacation is a great idea at almost any time of year. And Hermosa Beach in Southern California is the perfect place to enjoy this legendary coastline. Just south of Los Angeles, this beachfront community combines the beauty of the ocean with the amenities of a big city.

Book an RV in Hermosa Beach, and you’ll have access to the many and diverse attractions in this part of California. Whether you want to surf the ocean waves, hike the wild forests, or shop in the city, Hermosa Beach lets you do it all.

Discover Hermosa Beach

The Great Outdoors

Naturally, Hermosa Beach’s most prominent feature is the Pacific Ocean on the edge of the city. The deep blue waters have shaped the land and continue to do so today, but they also shape the culture and attractions of the town. An RV rental in Hermosa Beach is the ideal way to get out and explore.

In a little over an hour, your RV trailer rental in Hermosa Beach can take you to Crystal Cove State Park. Just outside Newport Beach, this park features 3.2 miles of unspoiled coastline. Hiking through the backcountry wilderness or watching the glittering sea break against the rocks, you’ll enjoy a glimpse of California’s wilder side. You can swim, surf, or fish in the cool waters of the ocean, and there’s nothing better than a refreshing dip after a long hike on a hot day. And if you prefer to take it easy, you can lay back on the sand and soak up some of that California sunshine. Add diving, horseback riding, and mountain biking to the list of activities offered in the park, and you may be tempted to stay a little longer. Fortunately, when you rent a motorhome in Hermosa Beach, it's easy to do just that. Crystal Cove has showers, toilets, and a dump station, and some sites have full hookups. But the best thing about the campground is the view of the waves on the beach. Make sure to book well in advance.

Not far from Crystal Cove and only 50 miles from Hermosa Beach, Limestone Canyon Regional Park offers a different kind of encounter with nature. Here you’ll find a lush canyon, sparkling streams, rich diversity of plant and animal life, and impressive geological formations that have led to the park being called a mini Grand Canyon. It’s a great place to travel to in your Hermosa Beach luxury RV rental, and hiking or biking through this wilderness will be a highlight of your trip.

Head east instead of south in your Hermosa Beach RV rental by owner, and in a little over an hour you’ll reach Angeles National Forest. This huge area of protected wilderness offers the chance to explore seemingly endless hiking trails, dense forests, and awesome canyons. Hiking and fishing are always popular here. For something with a little more of an adrenaline rush, the park also has an ATV obstacle course and 360 miles of backcountry trails for ATVs and dirt bikes.

RV Parks

An RV rental in Hermosa Beach, CA, is a great way to experience the diversity of Southern California. And when it’s time to find a place to stay, you’ll find a few options for RV parks that are worth checking out.

Dockweiler RV Park is only six miles up the coast from Hermosa Beach. And this site, run by LA County, has full hookups as well as hot showers and a laundromat. Every site has its own BBQ, so cooking out is always recommended, And best of all, you’ll be staying right on one of the area’s best swimming beaches. Falling asleep with the sound of the ocean in your ears will make sure you get a great night’s sleep here.

A little farther from Hermosa Beach, but possibly worth the 40-minute drive in a Hermosa Beach motorhome rental, Golden Shore RV Resort is another option for oceanfront camping. It's a large park, but the ocean breeze and swaying palm trees add to the tranquility of this spot. Full hookups are available, along with showers and laundry. The park also has a heated pool in case the ocean isn't your preferred place to swim.

Thirty miles inland from Hermosa Beach, Anaheim Harbor RV Park has full hookups, a swimming pool, and Wi-Fi. There are also barbecues and a putting green. But perhaps most importantly, this site provides a shuttle service to the nearby Disneyland Resort. It's so close, in fact, that you can see the fireworks from the world-famous theme park from the campground. If you hoped to visit Disneyland while you were in California, this park could be the right option for you.

Exploring The City

Hermosa Beach is the quintessential California beach town. But there’s plenty to do here besides soak up the laid-back surfer vibe.

A visit to Hermosa Beach Pier is a must do when you’re in the area. Along with the beautiful views, there are so many dining options in the area, including Mexican, Italian and Japanese cuisine. Not to mention all the fresh seafood there is to enjoy. And you’ll struggle to find a better place for an after-dinner stroll, ideally with an ice cream in hand.

While you’re on the coast, why not take a boat tour? Seeing the town from the water will give you a different perspective on this gorgeous coastline, and marine wildlife such as sea lions, porpoises, and whales make for a thrilling encounter out on the ocean.

Alternatively, Seaside Lagoon is a great water park that will allow you to beat the summer heat. Let the kids burn off some energy on the slides while you relax on the beach with a cool drink in hand.

An RV rental near Hermosa Beach lets you plan a vacation the whole family can enjoy. Rent an RV here and start planning a beach vacation you’ll never forget.
