Getting Outdoors
Despite the no body contact rule, boating is popular at the lake, but there are also strict rules regarding your boat. All boats entering the water must have passed a 35-day quarantine period to prevent the spread of Quagga and Zebra Mussels. However, boat rentals are available at the local bait and tackle shop, perfect when RV camping at Lake Casitas.
Camping at Lake Casitas
At the northern end of the lake is the Lake Casitas Recreation Area, a 400 plus site campground with full hookup sites for camping with an RV. For those with large RVs, there are pull-thru sites to make life easier. You can choose between lakeside sites, sheltered in the trees, or on the hillsides overlooking the lake, with beautiful views.
Exploring the Area
The small city of Carpinteria is located on the Pacific Coast, just a few miles southwest of the lake. Here, you’ll find everything you need to prepare your RV for camping at Lake Casitas. Along with gas stations, there are plenty of shops to pick up your supplies, and a range of restaurants to enjoy.

Roger is an excellent host and we are lucky to be able to rent this RV so close to home in TO. Appreciated the 4 comfortable captain chairs and the 5 extra chairs for a total of 9 passengers if needed. It was a perfect RV to host our out-of-town guests flying in for the wedding of our daughter and now son-in-law in Walnut Grove. Nice to have the extra bathroom, sink and refrigerator to use when needed.

Alan was so exceptionally helpful for our trip! We had a previous booking that was cancelled last minute and so glad we ended up booking this RV instead. It was in great condition and all worked well for our group. Would happily rent from Alan again! All of our friends had a blast and a great memory because of this RV :D

Fantastic experience and fully stocked. Seth’s van came through with everything we needed like kitchen/bathroom essentials, entertainment, firewood and more. His Instructions were clear and practical and he let us know that we could hit him up anytime which we did whenever we got stuck on how something worked. He wasn’t nitpicky and was reasonable about normal wear and tear super chill guy which made the experience very low stress. The van has excellent fuel economy around ~14 mpg. We did an 8 day loop around Sequoia NP-Yosemite-Big Sur and the Mercedes Leisure drove smooth like butter 🧈 We definitely overpacked for this trip and would pack less next time knowing that Seth’s van is ready to hit the road running. Would rent again 11/10
