Midway City is a popular but very small city in Orange County, California. It is one of the oldest communities in the county, many of its homes having been built in the 1950s.

The composition of the city consists of rural and retirement housing, and some businesses. One area within Midway, referred to as Little Saigon, has a variety of niche markets. The city's principal claim to fame comes through a number of famous and well-known people, including actresses Dedee and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Search for an RV in Orange County and your vacation will begin with a home on wheels perfectly suited to the climate and terrain of this sunny and breathtaking county and state. Other cities of interest worth exploring are Buena Park, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Huntington Beach, and Seal Beach. Tourists checking out Santa Ana should head for the local art and science museums, the Santa Ana Zoo, or check out Hart Park, which has outdoor concerts quite often in the summer. Your Midway City camper rental is your introduction to these communities and more.

The Great Outdoors

Limestone Canyon Regional Park is one of several nature preserves managed by OC (Orange County) Parks and a part of Irvine Ranch Open Space. The park has trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding, and also offers interpretive programs where visitors can learn about the preserve's plant and animal life in more detail.

Those who are more drawn to the ocean will enjoy Crystal Cove State Park, a protected area that includes several miles of beach, a backcountry wilderness that borders the beachfront area, and an offshore underwater area where sea plant life is also managed. The park is open from early morning to sunset; parking is available near the entrance. Year-round interpretive programs are held by park staff, such as hiking the backcountry, exploring the beach tide pools, and presentations about the geological structure of the area. Educational programs are held in the Historic District, a part of the park consisting of 1930's and 1940's cottages; one of these cottages houses a restaurant providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Chino Hills State Park is a smaller managed outdoor area offering opportunities to go hiking, biking, and horseback riding. It has a campground where visitors may stay overnight, but there is a length limitation on vehicles entering the park (guests can inquire with California State Parks for more information). The park is also gated and the gates are locked at night, preventing vehicles from entering or leaving after closing hours; your Midway City RV trailer rental is the perfect vehicle for cruising the park.

RV Parks

There are several RV campgrounds within a reasonable distance of Midway City. Most of the available RV campgrounds have at least some full hookup sites, big rig access and are child and pet-friendly. Many of the campgrounds have showers, restrooms, and laundry facilities, and activities include swimming, and hiking and biking. Don't forget to include the Midway City RV rental in your RV park photos, to show everyone back home exactly what they are missing.

Golden Shore RV Resort is an RV park with Wi-Fi, a pet area and a camp store. The individual sites are gravel and have picnic tables, and guests here can go fishing if they choose.

Canyon RV Park is an RV campground with asphalt roads. The park has lots of grass and trees that provide plenty of shade, and there is a playground for the kids. The individual sites have either asphalt or gravel pads, fire rings and picnic tables. This campground allows for some tent camping; it also has propane available, and allows overnight, weekly and seasonal stays.

Exploring The City

The community has a unique feel to it, one that definitely invites visitors and tourists to stop and take in the sights and sounds. The niche markets of Little Saigon alone are worth exploring; shopping here presents opportunities you are not likely to find in many other places. A Midway City motorhome rental is ideal for storing your purchases between shopping bouts, so much better than having to carry everything with you.

There are several restaurants within a short distance of Midway City. Visitors here can choose between seafood restaurants, Cajun and Creole menus, Vietnamese outlets and more. One Vietnamese establishment has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items on the menu, and the portions are huge. If you happen to find yourself here, try the canh chua (sweet and sour soup) or the caramelized catfish, both of which are amazing. Don't be afraid to get your leftovers wrapped up to take back to your RV rental near Midway City, food like this is too good to waste.
