Discover Pacific Grove RV rentals for memorable road trips

Pacific Grove is a charming coastal village on the Pacific Ocean, by the cities of Monterey and Salinas in central California. The name adequately describes the sweet-smelling pine forests along the sea. Pacific Grove was inhabited by local indigenous tribes before the arrival of the settlers, but in 1875, the Pacific Land Improvement Company purchased the land to build a vacation retreat modeled after Ocean Grove in New Jersey.

Outdoors Adventures

No matter what part of California you may find yourself in, there will be an abundance of natural beauty. The small peninsula that Pacific Grove inhabits is no exception to this rule. Some of the best state parks in the Golden State can be found within a short drive, like Garrapata State Park south of town. Two miles of incredible undeveloped coastline are shielded from the road by towering groves of redwood trees. There are steep paths down to the water’s edge that you can hike on, and rocky, hidden coves to explore. It is quite common to see gray whales, sea lions, harbor seals, and other incredible sea animals while looking out on the water from the lofty cliffs above. Fort Ord Dunes State Park is also a fabulous state park on the coast that you can bring your Pacific Grove camper rental to with a short drive north. What was once a military training area has been reclaimed by nature, with stunning stretches of white sand beach and massive dunes covered in a variety of different plant species. There are hiking paths, bicycle paths, and an interpretive center on site to teach park guests about the local ecosystem as well as the history of Fort Ord.

RV Parks to Visit

There might not be too many RV parks or campgrounds in Pacific Grove itself, but there sure are a handful of options in the surrounding towns nearby. Carmel by the River RV Park has full hookup sites, premium sites, and mega RV sites for groups or people with large RVs. The park is close to both Carmel and Monterey and has its own general store.

City Sightseeing

Between Monterrey, Salinas, Carmel, and Pacific Grove, there are enough amazing attractions to keep you occupied for the entirety of your trip and more. In Pacific Grove, nearly half the buildings in town are historic landmarks, with ornate Victorian style. Countless artists and authors have lived in Pacific Grove, like John Steinbeck and Robert Louis Stevenson, who once said: “I have never been in any place so dreamlike”. Point Pinos Lighthouse is perhaps the most notable of the historic structures in town, known for being the oldest operating lighthouse on the entire western seaboard. Epic views and gorgeous landscapes decorate the property around the lighthouse, making it a great place to spend the day.

This van was fantastic. It fits so much in the small space and does it well. It drives easily and switching from the sleeping set up to the driving set up was quick and simple. Storage was easy to organize because of the magnetic removable crates. Overall a great experience that is shaping what I want to have when I (hopefully) get my own van

Excellent communication with David who was very accommodating. Thoroughly enjoyed the RV! Camped for three nights and found the RV to be comfortable and provided every you could need to “glamp”!
