Q.How many kilometres can I travel in the RV?
A.
You are welcome to take the RV up to 150km/day.
Additional kilometres will be charged at 50c per kilometre, and deducted from your bond at the completion of your trip.
Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
There are clearly marked outlets on the outside of the RV for water, power and waste water. We'll show you these and also where the hoses/power cords are stored when you pick up the RV.
Once you get to the campground, set up is usually very simple and takes around 30 minutes.
Make sure you check what's available (eg. powered sites) at the campground ahead of your arrival :)
Q.I've never driven an RV before. What advice do you have?
A.
The most important thing is: take your time. RV travel is a lot of fun, and super convenient - you can take a toilet break, have a meal, take a nap, without leaving (or stopping) the van.
It is different to driving a car, but driver visibility is excellent thanks to the height of the vehicle, huge windscreen and reversing camera.
Q.How long can I be off the grid?
A.
In normal circumstances, if you have short showers and there are 2 adults and 2-3 kids, there is enough water and power to be off the grid for two days. You might be able to stretch this to 3 days if you use power saving strategies (e.g. use the lights only at night) and minimise water consumption by using public bathrooms at your campsite.
