Then, just show up with a backpack, pick up the truck, and swing by the grocery for ice and food and you're off. We've taken this rig tip-tip in Baja, up to British Columbia, across 3 of the BDR's and coast to coast in the continental U.S.He'll go almost anywhere you point him within reason (he's not a Tacoma, 4Runner or Jeep) but, has never been in the shop except for fluids and brakes which I change religiously. So please treat with care.Places we recommend:

Hey guys. Michael "Punky" here. Former Navy Frogman, worldwide traveler, and north county San Diego dweller with my wife, Katie, and our 120lb Mastiff, Hank. Been an avid traveler since leaving high school and have traveled on both my feet, two wheels, and four wheels. I've owned Jeeps, Trucks with campers, and three vans (two Westfalias and this Sprinter), and way more motorcycles than I should admit. My wife and I use our vehicles to get us to some amazing destinations and have always built them out as backpacks/tents on wheels w/only the necessities. We rent out our BMW R1200RS moto on Twisted Road, and my Toyota Tundra DC 4x4 and Mercedes Sprinter 144 4x4 here when we're not using them. If interested, give us a shout. We want them to be used for what they are intended for and to help others to explore and get out there. Cheers from SOCAL!

Have a question?Get answers directly from the host

Q.How do I get more info or schedule a prep-call with you?
A.
Here it is: https://calendly.com/hmhiggs/outdoorsy-prep-call-with-michael-higgs

Q.Where do you deliver?
A.
Within 50 miles of Fallbrook, Ca. So typically San Clemente, Coastal 101, San Diego County and Temecula.

Q.Is the camper built out?
A.
No, it's a Leer 180cc shell overtop a Decked drawer system. In the shell, you can sleep two comfortably and in the decked drawer system, I have an optional 3-person tent as well as all camping equipment (sleeping bags, ground pads, lanterns, cook set/cookware, chairs) for 2-5 people.

Q.Can I take it off-road?
A.
Sure, but only on approved "truck trails", OHV trails, and light 4x4 areas (it's not a Jeep Rubicon) but will go almost anywhere. Most renters take it to the beach, Joshua Tree, Big Bear, Yosemite the Back Country Discovery Routes, or Baja.
