Discover Lake Burton RV rentals for memorable road trips

When you book an RV in Habersham County, you’ll be in the Blue Ridge Mountains in northern Georgia. While in this area, you’ll have the chance to explore gorgeous natural features like Lake Burton. This lake, which was originally created in 1919 after one of Georgia’s first man-made hydroelectric lake dams was built. This dam restricted the flow of the Tallulah River, which helped create the modern-day 2,700-acre body of water that we know today.

Getting Outdoors

There is a lot to do at Lake Burton and in the area surrounding it, which is what makes it such a popular destination for motorhome camping. While spending time at the lake, you’ll be able to explore over 60 miles of shoreline that varies depending on what part of the lake you are at. Some of the easiest ways to navigate the shores of the lake are by hiking or biking, and unofficial trails can be found interlacing the forests surrounding the lake.

Camping at Lake Burton

One of the most convenient places to camp in an RV near Lake Burton is at the Moccasin Creek State Park. This destination has all the standard state park RV camping amenities you’d expect from an official facility and has over 50 RV compatible sites for you to choose from depending on availability. The landscape of the park is relatively flat, which allows for RVs of up to 50 feet to stay here.

Exploring the Area

Lake Burton is a bit isolated from nearby towns and cities, which gives it a purely rustic charm. However, when you’re running low on supplies or want to spend a day in town, you have a few options to choose from. Clarkesville, to the south, is a quaint town that prides itself on providing Southern hospitality to tourists that visit it. The downtown area of this small city is filled with small shops and restaurants, and a nearby Visitor’s Center is a great place to visit to get the scoop on local events.

The Absolute BEST experience HANDS DOWN! I'm 100% serious! This was our family of "8" first time camping and this RV was literally perfect. I was surprised at how LUXURY it was on the inside! It expanded into a whole home away from home.😍 With marble countertops, stainless steel appliances, a FULL Size refrigerator, (oven, stove, microwave), 3 Tvs, fireplace, 2 bathrooms, a REAL SHOWER, beds fully furnished with sheets and pillows and decor! I mean I can go on and on.... Then on top of that all that we needed to have a REAL camping experience the RV gave us things TOO...an outdoor rug, 4 outdoor chairs And other camping utensils and stuff. THENNNN.. Any question I had, I sent a text through the app and in minutes I had a REPLY (no matter the time.) Thank Youuuuuu Janae & Lee!!! I mean it! My sons 9th Birthday is one we will ALWAYS REMEMBER!! THANK YOU THANK YOUUUU!

Jamie is an excellent host, very responsive and accommodating. She even included a welcome basket with s’mores! It was so helpful that the camper came with many amenities and ready to go. Our family of 5 was very comfortable with sleeping spaces for all. The beds were made upon arrival, 4 camping chairs set up around fire pit, outdoor rug and awning out. She provided clean bath towels and wash clothes, plenty of trash bags, hand soap, shampoo, and a few starter picnic supplies. A couple of things to note…a 50 amp campsite would be most preferable for this camper, but on a 30 amp site we were all still able to stay very comfortable and cool with one AC unit running at a time. While the camper is VERY spacious and provides an awesome water view with the big windows behind the large seating area, there is not a table inside. If that important to you, there is plenty of room for a folding table or a could have folding high counter chairs at the island. Certainly worth working around that to enjoy everything else the camper and host have to offer. We spent all of our time eating outside…another great option!
