2019 Ford Transit Custom
Hi there! We call him Bruce. He's a 2019 Ford Transit (low-milage) that we converted into a fully livable space ourselves. He's not a top-of-the-line rig, but he's perfect for a getaway adventure.Taking your adventure off-grid?
This van is fully self-sufficient with 300w of solar panels on the roof which power the Yeti 1500x battery. A full battery can last up to 3 days without recharge. The battery powers the LED lights, 120v outlets with USB ports, WeBoost Antenna, MaxxAir fan, 2-burner propane stove, and the12v powered sink pump. In a bind off-grid with little sun? Is the weather too hot or too cold? A small propane & gas generator is available to recharge the battery or power the A/C unit or portable heater! Is a State or National Park more your style?
Nice! Power everything above (including the AC or heater) through the shore power hook-up!Other features of this van include:
Fresh and grey water tanks, bench seat with pull-out refrigerator, lots of over-head cabinet space, storage shelves and pull-out drawers in garage. This van does not have a shower or toilet, but we will provide a camping toilet and solar shower upon request!Everything you see is hommade with love and purpose so we hope Bruce allows you to adventure as comfortably as we do!What's includedEverything you need to cook (i.e. utensils, plates, pots, pans etc.), (2) regular pillows, fresh bed linens, bug net for sliding door, coat hangers, MoonShade awning, (2) camping chairs, 4x8 outdoor rug and PLENTLY of storageRecommendationsIf you're looking for a good weekend trip, there are so many things to do within 2-8 hours of Houston. For the big hikers/mountain bikers there's Big Bend National Park, Palo Duro Canyon and Enchanted Rock. For more recreational weekenders we love Garner State Park (easy hiking, swimming, river tubing and the unbeatable atmosphere!) Guadalupe River State Park, and anywhere around Austin, TX (the food!, water sports at Lake Travis, hiking the Hill Country and of course - wineries!).
For longer trips we love Sedona, AZ (18 hrs) and the surrounding area - Grand Canyon/Flagstaff/Kaibab and Coconino National Forests, White Sands National Park (12 hrs), Gulf Breeze, FL (8.5 hrs) Aspen, CO and the Rockies (16 hrs) and many others - just ask!
Other things to notePets welcome - we travel with (2) 60ish pound dogs pretty comfortably, but ask that you are respectful with cleaning up after them!
Please no smoking
Please treat this as your home (i.e. be gentle, clean, respectful etc.) as this is our home for part of the year, too!

Q.What flexibility is available for picking up and dropping off the RV?
A.
We can drop the van off and pick it back up from at the airport (IAH or Hobby)
Q.Are there any special tricks and tips that would help with operating the RV easily?
A.
This van drives SUPER easy! We have not had any issues with handling it on and off-road
Q.How do the electric, water and sewage hook up work while setting up at the campground?
A.
We built a very user friendly system to add and rid the fresh and grey tanks. We will happily demonstrate these operations before you take off in our van!
