Eldon Hazlet State Park campers will find plenty of fun activities right on their doorstep. Due to the presence of Carlyle Reservoir, boating is a favorite pastime at Eldon Hazlet, and there are several free boat launches. There are often gusty conditions at the park, making Carlyle Reservoir one of the most popular sites for sailing in the region, and sailors come from across the state to take advantage of the windy climate. The lake even features a sailboat marina where you can dock a boat. You may also want to cast a line into the lake's murky depths during your visit, and there are over 30 different species of fish in the reservoir, including channel catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, and many more.

During your visit with a motorhome rental at Eldon Hazlet State Park, you may want to explore some of the beautiful natural spaces surrounding the lake. There are roughly nine miles of trails to explore, which lead through different parts of the park. One of the most popular trails is the three-mile-long Cherokee Trail that leads through woods and up hills, which offer sublime vistas of Carlyle Reservoir. During your hike, you may want to visit one of the park's tallgrass prairies, which feature over 50 different species of plant, including purple coneflowers, blazing star, and American feverfew.

Campers can enjoy the swimming pool, as well as outdoor games including shuffleboard. If you venture into the state park, you'll have lots of hiking trails and watersports to enjoy. Exploring the Area

Carlyle campers will want to venture out of the state park and visit the bustling metropolis that is St Louis. St Louis is full of exciting attractions, and one of its best-known landmarks is the Gateway Arch. Campers can visit the adjoining museum and learn about the area's history and the construction of the arch through a variety of artifacts and informational panels. If you're feeling adventurous, you can book a tram ride to the top of the arch. At over 600 feet tall, visitors will be treated to sublime views of St Louis' skyline and the Mississippi River.
