Tough luxury… This rugged off-road camper was developed in Australia and designed to go anywhere a 4-wheel drive can tow it. Everything you need to cook and eat your meals is included… except food ;) It features the "Lock and Roll" articulating hitch, fully independent suspension with more than 12 inches of clearance, 8 foot high ceiling with inflatable beams, a large stainless-steel pull-out outdoor kitchen and a chest style DC refrigerator (can also be used as a freezer). We added memory foam mattress toppers for comfort, and the 2 double beds will have freshly washed mattress pads and be ready for your sheets, blankets or sleeping bags. We timed our first setup, in the dark, at less than 7 minutes! An on-demand hot shower, solar panels and Cinema package are available.

What's included

Pot, pan, utensils, cutting board, bowls, plates, vacuum-insulated mugs, biodegradable soap, jerry cans, fan, memory foam and propane

Recommendations

Camp free in Anza-Borrego or in any campground... No hookups are required!

Other things to note

The dry weight of this camper is only 2870 pounds, so it can be towed by a wide variety of vehicles. You will need a 2 inch receiver and a 7-pin round electric plug on your vehicle. It has 2 20 gallon fresh water tanks and 2 100 amp hour AGM batteries.

We love to camp in Borrego in the spring and the mountains in the fall, especially Mammoth. We spend a lot of time hiking or riding our electric bikes, and just about always have our smallish dog Baxter with us... We even have a trailer for Baxter that we pull with the bikes!

Just a fantastic experience all around. Ed is an outstanding owner and explained the trailer in detail at hand-off and was super thorough upon return. He made it all very easy.

Ed’s answer

I'm so happy you had a great trip!

My wide, 18 month old, and pups had a fantastic time in Ed's Opus OP4. We had been wanting to try one since we are interested in rural camping and the capabilities of these trailers. The weather wasn't great, but we knew that was going to be the case and despite the wind and subfreezing temperatures, the heater kept us warm at night. Even on nights when the temperature with wind chill was in the teens, we didn't have the heater on full blast because it would be too warm. The trailer is fantastic and comfortable as well as a breeze to tow. Ed was great to rent from and very knowledgeable and passionate about these experiences so he does everything he can to make it a great trip. We will be renting from him again!

Renting the Opus was a great experience from start to finish! Ed took the time to show us everything we needed to know about setting up, using, and breaking down the Opus so when we were camping it was a piece of cake! He made himself available by phone if we had any questions/issues (which we didn’t) and I appreciated knowing he was just a phone call away. I highly recommend renting from Ed!

The Opus is a great camper and had everything we needed for a week long trip. Setup and breakdown is easy and fast. The solar power is perfect - never got close to running low on power - and the outdoor hot shower add on is awesome and totally worth it. Ed made the entire experience really comfortable and relaxed. He walked us through everything and made us feel confident and ready for adventure. Highly recommended!
