That can be done in saltwater as well as freshwater. The swamps and marshland can be navigated by canoe as they were for hundreds of years. The park also features a wave pool.

Visitors may also find WiFi and cable; being that close to urban centers, the over-the-air antenna television should function somewhat as well. Several of their sites can accommodate a big rig.
Exploring the Area
Much of Westwego entertainment is centered around waterways. In addition to fishing at the state park, travelers can charter fishing trips. Many of the charters are in or around Belle Chasse, due to its location on the Mississippi and near the Gulf Coast. The charters can explore one of the lakes in the area or actually head out into the Gulf of Mexico.

Everything went perfect. Hazel was amazing and was the centerfold behind a very special vacation with my wife and son. My son is 12 now and this year will be one of the last really good childhood experiences he will have before he starts his journey into manhood.
