The nearest park to town is Lake End Park, which also doubles as a thriving RV park. This park offers a boat launch and playground, plus a number of walking trails and pavilions. Seeing as this park is located within the town, simply leave your RV rental parked and go explore. Just over the water is Brownell Memorial Park. The park offers a good opportunity to see the various plants that naturally grow along these swamps, such as a cattails, elephant ears, fern, iris and much more. Although the park itself is beautiful, one of the main attractions here is the Carrillon Tower, which rises to a height of 106 feet. The tower, although elegant, stands in contrast to its all natural surroundings. Bayou Teche National Wildlife Refuge is just a short drive away and is the best spot for hiking near town. During the spring, these trails can be a great place to look for neotropical birds or keep an eye out for alligators in the canals.
