Wallace Lake in Louisiana is just on the southern edge of the city of Shreveport. The lake was formed by the construction of a dam across the Bayou Pierre, which eventually feeds into the Red River that separates Shreveport from Bossier City further upstream.

Getting Outdoors
Fishing is probably the most popular pastime on Wallace Lake, and anglers can expect to catch a range of fish including black bass, crappie, catfish and bream. The lake has been noted by many as a particularly good area for crappie fishing. Boats are allowed on the reservoir, although the only boat ramp is located in the north-west end of the lake at the Milton James Cameron Park, and there is a large parking area for your RV rental.
Camping at Wallace Lake
No campgrounds are available at Wallace Lake, but a few miles south-west is the Twin Corners RV Park. This large campground has plenty of RV camping sites, all with full hookups, and the majority under the shade of trees. On-site, you’ll find a laundry, restrooms, and free WiFi.
Exploring the Area
Keen gardeners will want to visit the American Rose Center while motorhome camping near Shreveport. Situated on a 118-acre site, the gardens were originally laid out in 1974 and have now become home to the American Rose Society. Along with the thousands of roses to enjoy, there is a visitor center for information on anything to do with roses, lovely walking areas in the grounds, picnic areas, and a children’s playground.
