Meet your host, Cacklin Acre Farm
Member since 2018
Cacklin Acre Farm describes our retirement home to a tee! Our one-acre homesite was originally carved out of the family farm of my wife's paternal grandfather over 50 years ago as a gift to his daughter and her husband. A house was moved to the acre from the local town of Nashville, Illinois, with a garage and basement added on site. After many years, the property was sold and fell into disrepair. In 2013, we bought the property, did some major remodeling and love being surrounded by the fields still farmed by my wife's family. In 2015, we bought "Marvin" (our RV) and dreamed of retirement adventures to come. However, after some major health issues and 2 beautiful grandchildren, our trips with Marvin have been short and limited to nearby attractions. So our "farm" now raises chickens, turkeys, ducks, guineas, and grandkids. A rental from our business may include free eggs!
