Discover Jemez Springs RV rentals for memorable road trips

The small village of Jemez Springs is a community perched up in the Jemez Mountains. The small mountaintop oasis is mostly a summertime vacation destination, and the town has fewer than 400 full time residents. This fascinating enclave located entirely within the confines of the Santa Fe National Forest is only two hours north of Albuquerque, and just a few hours’ drive to Santa Fe in your Jemez Springs rental RV. Despite being within driving distance of major cities, Jemez Springs retains its small-town charm and isolated solitude.

Experience the Sites and Scenery

A short drive north or south on NM-4 in your Jemez Springs camper rental will bring you to many exciting places, helping you to enjoy the gorgeous state of New Mexico, widely known as the “Land of Enchantment”, and for good reason, too. In fact, you need not even leave town to find yourself in the sprawling Santa Fe National Forest and its 1.5 million acres of protected desert land and forest spanning two mountain ranges. This undeveloped area is mostly backcountry wilderness that is perfect for camping. Adjacent to the forest and not far from town is the Valles Caldera National Preserve, which is home to many endangered animals and the state of New Mexico’s largest herd of elk. The preserve is named for the Valles Caldera, a 13.7-mile wide hole in the Earth’s crust, and the area is peppered with tall grass meadows, volcanic lava domes, hot springs, and other geological phenomena. Jemez National Recreation Area sits next to the Preserve and attracts 1.6 million visitors a year who take part in its many outdoor activities like rock climbing, fishing, hunting, and hiking.

City Attractions

Although Jemez Springs is tiny, there is still some fun to be had in town. The Jemez State Monument is home to the remains of a 16th-century Native American pueblo structure as well as a 17th-century Spanish mission called San Jose de los Jemez. Here you can gain new perspective and learn a thing or two about the exciting convergence of cultures.

Where to Park It

Since Jemez Springs is mostly known as an outdoors vacation spot, it is easy to find places to camp or stay when you rent an RV. In fact, you would be hard-pressed to find a more suitable town to visit, with its unparalleled natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
