Brown Tract Pond Campground was first opened to the public in 1958 but has remained one of the Adirondack region's best-kept secrets. The campground is situated in a heavily wooded area on the eastern shore to the pond, where non-powered boats provide access to fishing and self-guided lake tours. It's also a good area for mountain bike riding; you can take your bike on the trails or on the nearby access roads. The campground has a boat launching ramp, and you can rent a boat on-site if you don't have one with you.

Exploring the Area

It's a good destination if you want to do some shopping or take a break from cooking to grab a meal. The town has a small but sufficient number of restaurants that include a Mexican venue, a deli, a pizzeria, and several pub restaurants.

Boonville is a small town that has been in existence since 1805. It has several urban parks where you can take a leisurely stroll; one of them has a scenic waterfall. There's a golf course and also a museum that is dedicated to the history of the local locks and canals that are a part of the Erie Canal system. If you're feeling peckish, Boonville has a variety of establishments you can choose from, including several pub restaurants and diners, a pizzeria, and an ice cream shop.
