Discover Buffalo rentals for memorable road trips

Buffalo is New York’s second largest city, and although its population pales in comparison to New York City’s 8.5 million, it is the cultural and entertainment capital of western New York. Situated just a few miles from Canada, it has one of the busiest border crossings in the country with Toronto being only an hour and a half away.

Perhaps more than anything else though, Buffalo is known as the gateway to the famous Niagara Falls. Niagara Falls in Ontario has served as a major tourist attraction for over a century, and it’s in Buffalo that most Americans stay when visiting the falls.

Buffalo is served by a moderately-sized public transportation system consisting of dozens of bus routes and a light rail with 13 stations. Getting around town via public transportation is a suitable alternative to driving when you book an RV in Buffalo.

RV Parks near Buffalo

Due to the popularity of nearby Niagara Falls, there’s no shortage of quality RV parks in the Buffalo area. Most of them can be found a few miles north of the city, centering around Grand Island in the Niagara River. Branches of Niagara and Niagara Falls KOA are both located on Grand Island and have full hookups for the Buffalo RV rental by owner. Branches also has zip-lining, a heated pool, and kayaks available for rent while the KOA has a dog park and fishing area. Several miles to the southeast, in Holland , is Mountain Meadows RV park which offers electrical and water hookups at all of their campsites. Farther to the north, you’ll find Niagara Falls/Lewiston KOA, which has most of the same amenities found at the Grand Island location but is much closer to the famed falls. On the other side of the border, there's another Niagara Falls KOA, Riverside Park Motel & Campground, and Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Campground and Resort Niagara Falls. Crossing the border with the Buffalo RV rental takes about an hour, depending on traffic, but otherwise isn’t too difficult so long as you have a valid passport.

Exploring the City of Buffalo

When you rent an RV in Buffalo, you’ll be presented with a plethora of amazing tourist attractions to visit; the hard part will just be deciding which ones you have time for. If you love cars, you absolutely must check out the Pierce-Arrow Museum and its collection of vintage vehicles including cars, trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles. The Buffalo History Museum looks at some of the most exciting points in the city’s history including the Pan American exhibit that features artifacts from the World’s Fair held here in 1901. If that’s not enough history for you, the Buffalo Fire Historical Society has some great exhibits regarding the city’s fire department and the tools that they used to put out blazes over the years. Sports fans will love this city with both the Bills (NFL) and Sabres (NHL) making their home in Buffalo. The city has also fielded a minor league baseball team with the Bison, who play at Coca-Cola Field in downtown Buffalo. When in Buffalo, you must try the regional cuisine: the well-known Buffalo wings, the much lesser known Beef on Weck, or there’s the Beef on Deck, a smoked and shaved beef sandwich on a kummelweck roll.

Getting Outside near Buffalo

Getting outside in Buffalo is easy with a multitude of great city parks along with big-ticket natural attractions. One of the best places to experience nature without leaving the city is Delaware Park. The Frederick Olmsted-designed space is crisscrossed by several walking paths and is also the home to the Buffalo Zoo along with Albright-Knox Art Gallery. Additionally, the Buffalo and Erie Botanical Gardens is a great place to go with the Buffalo motorhome rental if you literally want to stop and smell the flowers during your visit to the city. However, one of the best things about booking a camper rental in Buffalo is having the freedom to go anywhere you like, including outside the city and away from public transportation. While not particularly close-by, the Adirondack Mountains five and half hours away make up the largest state park in the country and they serve as a veritable playground for hikers. Climb Whiteface Mountain, enjoy the views of the winter Olympic Park, or just paddle around Lake Placid . Obviously, one of the most important sites to see when visiting the Buffalo area is Niagara Falls. The 167-foot-tall cross-border falls are one of the most impressive natural wonders in the United States and they are less than a half hour’s drive from Buffalo. To get the best views of the falls you’ll need to cross into Canada, however, the experience there can be rather overwhelming with hordes of tourists trying to snap a selfie. View it from the American side for a calmer experience and the chance to get a good photo without having to elbow your way through a crowd.

Phil's pop-up trailer was ideal for our needs, and we would recommend it to other families looking for a comfortable upgrade from traditional tent camping. Phil walked me through all the ins and outs of set-up and take down making my life easy when on-site. I would rent it again for sure.

Excellent time. Communication could not be better. K+M were super nice and helpful as we were first time using a trailer. They had everything we need and more. They even left us a very generous gift as a thank you that came in handy. We would 100% rent again. thank you.
