ReserveAmerica named Evangola one of the Top 100 campgrounds in the nation so this is an excellent place to plan a motorhome camping vacation. There are cabins, yurts, plus 81 tent and trailer campsites available that can accommodate vehicles up to 40 feet. Fifty-five of the sites have electric hookups. Amenities include flush toilets, hot showers, and laundry facilities. Campers also have access to comfort, dump, recycling, and water stations. When you book a site at Evangola State Park you’ll be able to look forward to well-paved roads and easy back-in into the campsites, many of which are partially shady. Most of the facilities are ADA accessible and both the beach and a snack shack are within walking distance of the campground. Sites are are able to be reserved one day or up to nine months in advance during the camping season, which typically lasts from April to October.

If you camp in a rental motorhome at Evangola State Park during the warm season, definitely check out the annual Tomato Festival, which the park hosts at the end of summer. When hunger strikes, head to the park’s 1950s style diner, which is nestled just above the beach. The park is also a popular destination for weddings and other special events thanks to its meeting rooms, a gazebo and a banquet room overlooking Lake Erie. Before hopping in your travel trailer and continuing your road trip make sure to stop by the park’s Nature Center. The center is in a historic 1929 YWCA Recreation Building featuring original art and hieroglyphs from women who stayed here during the 1930s. Evangola campers can attend complimentary programs and workshops at the center led by park naturalists. The various activities include bird watching, nature hikes, marsh studies, sandcastle contests, fishing programs, and dragonfly surveying. There are plenty of supplies and services right at the park if you need to stock up. Head to the convenience store to pick up ice, firewood, and other camping equipment, or browse for that perfect souvenir at the gift shop. When you’re in the mood for some entertainment, less than 10 miles from Evangola State Park you’ll find opportunities to gamble at a casino, play a round of golf, or go horseback riding. Only a short cruise away from the state park you’ll be able to enjoy a more urban experience in the neighboring towns as well as all the cultural attractions of New York’s Niagara region. After you fuel up, head out on a day trip to the city of Buffalo, which is less than hour’s drive away and is near the world-famous Niagara Falls.
