River Road Campground

Camp in an RV near Corinth and spend a day exploring Moreau Lake State Park, which sprawls across more than 4,500 acres along the Hudson River. It’s traversed by over 20 miles of hiking trails, as well as being a popular destination for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and ice fishing during the winter months. If you’re visiting during the summer months, you can go paddling and fishing on Moreau Lake or just soak up the sunshine on the lakeside beach. Beach lounges and umbrellas can be rented during the summer while snowshoes are available during the winter season. If you drive in the other direction along the Hudson River, you’ll arrive at the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness Area, which is scattered with 39 bodies of water, including the namesake Pharaoh Lake. It encompasses over 46,000 acres and is traversed by more than 60 miles of hiking trails, including the 7.5-mile-long Sucker Brook Trail and the 3.3-mile Pharaoh Lake Trail. Although motorboats are not allowed within the wilderness area, kayaks and canoes are, with Crane Pond, Goose Pond, and Berrymill Pond among the most popular paddling areas. All waters are also open to fishing, with the opportunity to lure both wild and stocked species. Camping at River Road Campground is a good base for exploring the Silver Lake Wilderness, which lies directly west of the RV park. Aside from more than 40 bodies of water, the wilderness is blanketed in rolling hills of spruce and balsam and large swamp areas that make it a popular hiking and backpacking destination. Stretch your legs along part of the long-distance Northville-Placid Trail, which extends 138 miles through the Adirondack Mountains, with the stretch from Hamilton Lake to the summit of Hamilton Mountain seeing the most foot traffic.
