The Great Outdoors

Delaware sits between Ohio’s Till Plains and the Appalachian Plateau, placing it among some of Central Ohio’s best nature parks. Many nearby parks are located along local rivers, lakes, and reservoirs, making them great destinations for hiking, camping, and water recreation. Delaware State Park is just north of the city and features densely wooded trails and expansive meadows along the Delaware Reservoir. This park also features a host of recreational activities, including an archery range, boating, and wintertime activities.

RV Parks

Delaware’s close proximity to the city of Columbus and numerous surrounding state parks make it a natural hub for RVers. If you want to stay close to the heart of town with your rental RV in Delaware, check out the Whitesands Campgrounds. This RV campground has basic amenities and full hookups during the summer; however, water is not available during winter. For a more comprehensive slew of amenities, head to the Cross Creek Camping Resort. This RV resort has full hookups year-round as well as amenities like yard games, a pool, and campground-hosted activities. If you want to stay closer to Columbus, you can head to Korbel North Campground, which has a full-service RV park near the Ohio Expo Center.

Delaware’s historic downtown area is home to a huge array of shops and restaurants, and it hosts First Fridays events filled with local art and music. It also hosts a farmers market on Saturdays and Wednesdays during the spring, summer, and fall. History buffs can continue their tour of the history of central Ohio at the Nash House and the Rutherford B. Hayes Birthplace, ending with a movie at the Strand Theater, a restored 1916 theater. Delaware is also home to the Perkins Observatory and the Central Ohio Symphony. We had such a great trip! The RV was exactly as described and the host did a really great job explaining everything before we left. I have a family of 5 and the kids absolutely loved the RV! I had never driven an RV before and this one was very easy to drive. I would definitely recommend!
