Lakeview Park Campground

At Hocking Hills State Park, hikers can trek the park's seven major hiking areas. If you want to see some of the most sought-after destinations in the park, take your Lancaster camper rental to the park and head to the Old Man's Cave area where the six-mile Grandma Gatewood Trail starts. The trail then takes you to the Cedar Falls and the Ash Cave hiking areas that are deservedly popular among visitors. Photographers may want to linger at the Devils Bathtub for a good shot of the swirling and cascading waters of the captivating tiered waterfall. Those who like to explore the outdoors on two wheels should rent a camper near Lakeview Park Campground and hit the enthralling mountain bike trails of Lake Hope State Park. Beginners may want to pedal along the lakeside scenery of the Hope Furnace Trail Loop (4.5-6.5 miles) as there’s little elevation gain along the route. On the other hand, ridge riding awaits cyclists on the ten-mile Copperhead Loop. Adrenaline-seekers looking for white-knuckle riding may want to try the tight turns, switchbacks, and steep climbs and descents at the five-mile Sidewinder Loop. For a sampling of segments of Copperhead, Sidewinder, and Hope Furnace trails, the 16-mile Big Loop is highly recommended. For a trip back in time when horses ruled the roads, Fairfield County’s original covered bridges take you there with a little imagination needed. At least a handful of these historic structures are in and around Lancaster. The Rock Mill Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The John Bright #2 Bridge is the one you pass through on the road to the Lancaster Festival concerts at Ohio University, and the McCleery Bridge is the one to take if you're exploring Lancaster's bike paths.
