Discover Independence RV rentals for memorable road trips

The city of Independence, Oregon is located a short distance from the state’s capital of Salem along Route 51 and next to the Willamette River. It was founded by a group of pioneers from Independence, Missouri who were searching for fertile farmland to claim in the mid-1800s. Following a turn as a transport hub in the late 19th century, it became known for its extensive hops fields that were crucial for beer production on the West Coast. A “Hops Fiesta” was even held for a few decades in the early 20th century before the fields became less profitable in the '50s. With the expansion of Salem’s boundaries, Independence is a quiet suburb of the capital.

This van was super fun! It got us through our hot springs road trip with no issues. In fact, it made us want to get a van of our own. We got about 18 mpg which was better than I expected. Bed may be a little short for anyone taller than 5”9 but it worked for us. Would rent again!

My wife and I rented Robert’s van for a weeklong roadtrip up the Oregon coast, and our experience couldn’t have been any better! Robert and his wife were very friendly and took the time to thoroughly go over every aspect of how to operate the van and all of its features - which was useful to me as a first time camper van user. The van itself is truly wonderful. The van is 21ft but does not feel very large to drive at all. The van has a backup camera and blind spot detection as well which was nice.

Our host, Robert, was helpful, easy to work with, responsive to our questions, flexible about pick up and drop off times, and generally ensured we had a great experience. The camper van was in excellent shape, well-equipped and stocked, and easy to use. We recommend Robert (host) and Wanda (van) highly!
