Roseburg, Oregon, the “Timber Capital of the Nation," is a small city in between Medford and Eugene in the western portion of the state. The town gets its nickname from the fact that it was once one of the country’s leading timber harvesting areas and home to several major timber companies. The city straddles either side of the South Umpqua River and sits conveniently on Interstate 5, one of the state’s most important corridors.

Roseburg was first established and named for Aaron Rose, a man from New York who built his own homestead in Oregon. This homestead would later become a store, a travel rest stop, and then eventually a hotel was built in town. The town was initially called Deer Creek before Aaron Rose donated land and money to build a courthouse, making Roseburg the county seat of Douglas County.

When you book an RV in Roseburg, you are within reach of some of the Pacific Northwest’s most amazing parks, forests, and beaches, giving you an extensive amount of flexibility to plan your trip according to your wants and needs. You can’t go wrong in this peaceful town, no matter where you stay or how you decide to enjoy it.
