This is a Great van! It’s so easy to boondock or settle in a camp site. It’s easy to drive. Communication was also excellent! Would recommend and would rent again!

Boss Lady is a dream. She's fun and has character. Clean and organized. Thoughtfully converted. You will wish she was yours.

We had the most amazing trip in The BossLady Van. We were able to see most of the Oregon coast, Crater Lake, and Mt. Hood all in one journey. The only way we could have done it was taking our hotel room/AirBnB with us. The van was awesome, with the bed being comfortable, the fridge and kitchen perfect for us to cook meals, and the toilet and shower coming in handy when we couldn't find stuff on the road. It was a great home away from home, and had all the little touches we needed. Stuart and Josie were awesome and helpful, sharing tips on how to be most successful on our journey. It was much appreciated. Added bonus, the van drives like a car and really can go most places, certainly everywhere we wanted to go. So glad we we able to travel in The BossLady!

Josie’s answer

James- So glad you had a good time! The Bosslady is pretty sweet, we also enjoy the ability to choose our adventure on the daily without worrying about reservations. We would love to host you again, we will give you 10% off on the next trip as a thank you. Hope to see you again, Josie and Stuart.

If you can drive a full-size van or pick-up truck, you can handle this vehicle.
Everything worked great and I technically could have gone without plugging into power the entire 8 days thanks to the solar panels.
I advise getting a State Park yearly pass for cost-effective camping (and entry to day-use areas/attractions), and check out hipcamp.com or The Dyrt app.
One caution: I'm a 5'7" senior with a knee replacement and bad shoulder.
I found the high entry step and waist weight bed a little challenging, even with the little folding step they provided. Height-challenged people may have a struggle.

I decided to rent a van for my 34th birthday. I have been teetering with the idea of van life as a lifestyle change and this was the ultimate test to experience it for myself. After the first night, I am even more convinced that I would like to own a van!

Have a question?Get answers directly from the owner

Q.Do we need to empty the toilet?
A.
If you use the toilet, you need to empty it prior to returning the van. The process is pretty straightforward and will be demonstrated at pick-up (an instruction manual is also provided in the van). The toilet can be emptied into a regular or pit toilet (i.e. at a campground or rest stop). If you use the toilet heavily, it will likely need to be emptied during your rental as well as prior to return.

Q.What are your pet policies?
A.
The van can accommodate pets, but, given space constraints, is best suited to pets under 60 lbs. If you plan on leaving your pet unattended in the van, it MUST be crated to prevent accidents and/or damage. Soft crates work well for this. Please try to keep your pet off the bed.

Q.Is this a professional or home van conversion?
A.
The BossLady is a home conversion. That said, it was built by a guy called James Frank who worked for a professional van conversion company and went on to build-out several more vans (check out his projects at https://sprinterstoriesllc.com/). As such, the van is well designed and built, and functions in a very similar fashion to a professionally converted van.

Q.How far are you from Portland airport?
A.
We are about 10 miles from the airport (20-30 minutes drive depending on traffic). We don't offer airport pick-up and drop-off so most renters just take a ride share to our house and we do the exchange there.
