If you can drive a full-size van or pick-up truck, you can handle this vehicle.
Everything worked great and I technically could have gone without plugging into power the entire 8 days thanks to the solar panels.
I advise getting a State Park yearly pass for cost-effective camping (and entry to day-use areas/attractions), and check out hipcamp.com or The Dyrt app.
One caution: I'm a 5'7" senior with a knee replacement and bad shoulder.
I found the high entry step and waist weight bed a little challenging, even with the little folding step they provided. Height-challenged people may have a struggle.

April 20215

I decided to rent a van for my 34th birthday. I have been teetering with the idea of van life as a lifestyle change and this was the ultimate test to experience it for myself. After the first night, I am even more convinced that I would like to own a van!

We had a wonderful time in this comfy van. Great way to get away from it all. The owners are very easy to work with and the van was in great shape- it had everything we needed and more!

This was our first time van camping and it was amazing. It will take a lot of convincing to get me back in a tent. The van had everything we needed. I was concerned about driving a van but it handled like a car. The owners were helpful and easy to work with.

The owners where really thorough in explaining everything about the van. The van didn't give us one hiccup. We took the van down the Oregon Coast and and back for our Honey Moon. It was a wonderful experience.

Have a question?Get answers directly from the owner

Q.Do we need to empty the toilet?
A.
If you use the toilet, you need to empty it prior to returning the van. The process is pretty straightforward and will be demonstrated at pick-up (an instruction manual is also provided in the van). The toilet can be emptied into a regular or pit toilet (i.e. at a campground or rest stop). If you use the toilet heavily, it will likely need to be emptied during your rental as well as prior to return.

Q.What are your pet policies?
A.
The van can accommodate pets, but, given space constraints, is best suited to pets under 60 lbs. If you plan on leaving your pet unattended in the van, it MUST be crated to prevent accidents and/or damage. Soft crates work well for this. Please try to keep your pet off the bed.

Q.Is this a professional or home van conversion?
A.
The BossLady is a home conversion. That said, it was built by a guy called James Frank who worked for a professional van conversion company and went on to build-out several more vans (check out his projects at https://sprinterstoriesllc.com/). As such, the van is well designed and built, and functions in a very similar fashion to a professionally converted van.

Q.How far are you from Portland airport?
A.
We are about 10 miles from the airport (20-30 minutes drive depending on traffic). We don't offer airport pick-up and drop-off so most renters just take a ride share to our house and we do the exchange there.
