RV Rental Goddard Memorial State Park, RI

Goddard Memorial State Park attracts thousands of visitors yearly, and it’s easy to see why. If you’re into nature in general, the park has a forested area with a vast collection of trees brought in from across the globe. There’s no better way to experience flora and fauna in this park than by horseback riding.

If you’re not up for some equestrian riding, slip out of your rental RV with a good pair of hiking boots and a water bottle and enjoy some hiking. The Goddard State Park Extended Loop is a 3.7 mile moderately trafficked trail that offers fantastic views of East Greenwich and the boats. The trail is dog-friendly, so be careful while taking a run.

Feeling like taking a dip to cool off after an invigorating walk? The park comes complete with a swimming beach. The far-east end of the swimming beach is great for launching hand-carried boats in case you’ve got a kayak strapped to your Warwick camper rental. Greenwich Cove is sheltered, but it tends to fill up with people. Greenwich Bay is wonderful for kayakers of all skill levels, but it gets rough when the wind picks up.

Unfortunately, Goodard Memorial State Park doesn’t have an RV campground, but the area has a couple of RV parks to choose from. The Melville Pond Campground in Portsmouth, RI, is one of the campgrounds that is located closest to the park. The pull-thru sites are equipped with full hookups, coupled up with cable TV and WiFi. The big-rig accessible park additionally offers laundry facilities, a camp store, and a pet area.

The Wawaloam Campground in West Kingston is another campground to consider. The campground also offers water, electric, and sewer hookups, and it has back-in sites. Don’t fret if you’ve got a long trailer as the big-rig accessible sites are very spacious. Some of the amenities include WiFi, showers, and a snack bar. Propane is also available, and for recreation, guests have access to a kid’s playground, pool, and a mini-golf course.

When camping in a rental motorhome at Goddard Memorial State Park, venture beyond the park’s boundaries once in a while to check out the local attractions. There’s never a dull day in Warwick. Taking a lighthouse tour is one of the best things there is to do in Warwick. The lighthouses are best seen from the water, so be sure to book your seat in a tour boat.

Are you into deep-sea fishing? Warwick has a couple of marinas that rent out marine equipment. If you're the kind of person who prefers sticking to solid ground, Providence offers a broader selection. The John Brown House is a must-visit whenever you’re in Providence. The stunning 18th-century historic house offers a glimpse back to the past of Rhode Island. It isn’t ranked as one of the most beautiful homes in Providence for nothing.

If you’re a foodie, you'll love it in Providence. The city’s restaurants not only offer fantastic food, but there is also a whole museum dedicated to food. Whether you like cooking or just eating, The Culinary Arts Museum is open to all. The teaching museum showcases over half a million items, including kitchen equipment, cookbooks, and even vintage restaurant menus.
