This seasonal campground is situated in a serene setting right on the ocean. The pull-thru and back-in gravel sites are large enough to accommodate even a 38’ travel trailer. This campground has no hookups, but guests are encouraged to carry a full tank of fresh water and empty holding tanks. Even though there are no showers, other amenities like restrooms and good mobile connectivity are available. Campers enjoy fishing, swimming, and boating in the sea.

Alternatively, one could cross the state border to Connecticut and set up their South Kingstown camper at Mystic KOA. Perched amid century-old maple trees and lovely structures, this campground guarantees epic views of the Westerly hills. Besides full hookups, these ample-sized pull-thru sites are graced with other facilities such as WiFi, cable TV, and propane. Bring along your furry friends as the RV Park is pet-friendly. For recreation, visitors enjoy campfire time, a mini-golf course, and a swimming pool.

Start your tour by visiting the Fantastic Umbrella Factory. Here, you’ll have a chance to do some shopping and sample delicious meals. After shopping, spend the evening at the Frosty Drew Observatory and Science Center. Located in the Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge, this observatory offers amongst the best astronomical education in New England.

Another incredible adventure awaits you at the Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge. Situated on the shores of Ninigret Pond, bird-lovers frequent these expansive wetlands to view the wide variety of birds such as Canada geese, diving ducks, and raptors. The refuge also maintains a piping plover nesting program. Some of the marine animals to look out for see include winter flounder, blue crab, and bay scallop. When you’re done watching the wildlife, enjoy the rest of the day at Ninigret Park. Located on the west side of the Narragansett Bay and north side of the Block Island Sound, the Point Judith Lighthouse in Narragansett is worth passing by. Follow it up with a tour of the Fishermen’s Memorial State Park and get an insight into the Revolutionary War in the area.
