This vehicle has a V10 engine. It has a 44 gal tank and gets around 8 miles to the gallon. It is the largest SUV ever made. Please make sure you're comfortable driving larger vehicles before renting this rig. It has a 4" lift and 35" tires. It is a fun vehicle to drive and is perfect for well-graded gravel roads. We ask that you do not take it on technical 4x4 roads. Please note this an older vehicle. Do not expect perfection with this vehicle. It does have some character :). We keep it well maintained and very clean, but you will notice some wear and tear in the interior. The roof top tent is a brand new Walkabout 62 Queen Size Roof Top Tent by 23Zero with their Light Suppression Technology. You will stay up to 15% cooler and remain in darkness (almost zero light penetration) until you open the windows and allow the day to begin. It is a year round tent, allowing you to live the roof top tent lifestyle any time of year, in any climate. The tent is built with a durable and waterproof polycotton material. Heat is only available in the vehicle, not in the tent. The replacement value of the roof top tent is $1,999.00. RecommendationsThe Arizona Strip south of St. George is a great place to take the Excursion and camp off-grid. It has miles and miles of gravel and dirt roads and we know the roads well! Other excellent places to camp are reservation-only campgrounds nearby: Zion National Park, Snow Canyon State Park, Red Cliffs Campground, Pine Valley Recreation Area, Baker Dam Campground. For reservation-only campgrounds on federally managed lands, download the Recreation.gov app. It's one of our favorite apps to use for camping! Other things to notePlease note - one person can deploy and put away the tent, but it's easier with two people and does take some time and patience to put away. Be prepared, as it can be physically demanding too.Secondary roads (well graded gravel and dirt) are okay but it is not to be taken on side roads or rough roads. If rain is in the forecast then do not take it off pavement. We are not responsible if it gets stuck. Do not attempt to drive through sand. Local Bureau of Land Management Offices or Visitor Centers will have information on current road conditions - know before you go!This vehicle cannot be taken out of the United States or to festivals. The vehicle is 20 feet long and 8.5 feet high - you are responsible for knowing this information and must follow posted signs and rules for max vehicle length on roads and max height for tunnels, underpasses and drive-thrus.1 Dog is allowedBefore starting a fire outdoors, review Leave No Trace principles. Always check the land manager's current regulations for information on where to build a fire and potential burn bans. All drivers must complete our driver verification process.
