People of all ages can find plenty to keep them busy, whether they’re enjoying a day trip or staying for a week. Camp in an RV near Moab and spend time exploring the various sights in the park. Many people flock to Arches National Park to watch the abundant wildlife that calls this rugged place home. Birdwatching enthusiasts will enjoy a day trip to nearby Scott M. Matheson Preserve, an 894-acre wetland area with abundant avian species along with other wildlife.

For the more adventurous spirit, canyoneering is a great way to explore the canyons of Arches. Camp in an RV near Arches National Park so you can get an early start and explore the vast canyons throughout the park. Canyoneering does require basic climbing skills and equipment. Be sure to check the park’s regulations for canyoneers when planning your trip.

Don’t forget to load up your mountain bike in your rental motorhome at Arches National Park. There's a large selection of mountain bike trails which vary in length and difficulty. Beginners can enjoy a more scenic ride on less harsh terrain. Intermediate bikers can test their skills on more rugged trails, and advanced or expert bikers will probably seek out the Slickrock Bike Trail, over ten miles of some of the harshest terrain seasoned bikers will face.

Visitors to Arches National Park may want to sign up for one of the ranger programs offered at the park. Park rangers and volunteers host a selection of programs throughout the day and evening. Many programs are held in the Devils Garden Campground Amphitheater.

Camping at Arches National Park

Plan your RV camping trip at Arches National Park by finding the right campsite for your needs. There are several campsites close to the park to choose from. During peak months, these sites may fill up quickly, so be sure to reserve your campsite when you reserve your rental RV.

The only campground inside Arches National Park is Devils Garden Campground. Open year-round, the campground provides flush toilets and pit toilets, potable water, grills, and picnic tables. Showers aren’t available. Campers can purchase firewood and charcoal nearby.

With Moab being only a stone’s throw from Arches National Park, there are several camping options to choose from outside the park. The Moab KOA is a great place to park your RV rental and relax for a while. Like most KOAs across the United States, this one offers several amenities, including Wi-Fi, cable TV, electric hookups, pump stations, a pool, picnic tables, propane, and firewood.

Located on Highway 191, Slickrock Campground is a short drive from Arches National Park. Amenities at Slickrock Campground include full hookups, cable TV, three shower houses, a hot tub, playground, laundry facilities, and a market for supplies.

Exploring the Area

While you’re visiting Arches National Park, take a day or two and visit Canyonlands National Park, best known for the Island in the Sky Mesa. Tour the Native American rock paintings that have been preserved in Horseshoe Canyon. The Needles are another feature of Canyonlands National Park that many people find fascinating. You can even go whitewater rafting.

After leaving Canyonlands National Park, take a slight detour to Dead Horse Point State Park, located just minutes from Canyonlands. Hiking and mountain biking are popular pastimes at Dead Horse Point. The views throughout the park are idyllic, so bring your camera along for some once-in-a-lifetime photos. Camping is also allowed in the park, so bring your RV rental and stay a few days!

There are no restaurants or shops located inside Arches National Park. Several dining options are available in surrounding towns, particularly Moab. A variety of cuisines, including Asian, Mexican, Italian, and American, can be found nearby.
