There are two different campgrounds at James M. Robb Colorado River State Park for campers to choose from. Both of these have the standard amenities that tend to be offered at state park RV campgrounds. The Island Acres campground has 74 RV compatible campsites, of which 40 have full hookups, and 34 have just electricity. This campsite also has picnic tables, fire rings, and grills at each of the sites for campers to enjoy at their convenience.
Exploring the Area
Clifton, which is right next to Grand Junction, is one of the closest small cities to visit while you have a motorhome rental at James M. Robb Colorado River State Park. Clifton is home to the Museums of Western Colorado: Cross Orchards Historic Site and the Grand Valley Model Railroad Club, both of which are exciting ways to spend the afternoon. Alanna & Oliver were awesome! They made us feel like we knew them for years. The Jeep was more than capable to go on some awesome trails, even trails we had no idea where gonna be a little rough. Not once did we feel like the Jeep could not conquer any obstacle. The rig is well rated for any awesome trails you wanna take it on, it has everything you need and even things you didn’t know you needed. We are looking forward to going back in the future. It was an amazing experience and one you won’t regret.

The RV was perfect for our dry camping excursion. Neither my partner or I had hauled an RV before, but Kim and her husband were fantastic to work with, provided great instructions. We felt super comfortable and had a great time.
