Explore the City

Springville may be small but there’s still plenty to see, both in the town and in the neighboring city of Provo. Springville was first discovered by a Jesuit priest named Father Escalante in 1776 but the settlement wasn’t established until 1850 when eight pioneer families made it their home. Springville was originally called Hobble Creek. It was changed as the city grew, however, the stream, which flows from Spring Canyon through the center of town, has kept its name. Visitors can learn more about the history of Springville and Provo at the Bean Life Science Museum, BYU Museum of Palaeontology, the Daughters of Utah Museum-Historical Society, or the Springville Museum of Art which is housed inside a converted Spanish colonial house. Another popular place to visit is Provo Pioneer Village. This is an open-air exhibition open each year from Labor Day to Memorial Day. It hosts the original timber structures that were built by the founders of Springville as well as historical artifacts, wagon rides, kid’s activities, and a blacksmith workshop.

We had a fantastic experience renting a van from Trent and Sarah! The van was clean, well-maintained, and exactly what we needed for our trip. They were great to work with—friendly, responsive, and made the whole process easy from start to finish.

This trip was a bucket list for my handicap father. We had very specific needs for the RV. The host had the perfect floor plan. We needed a handicap rack for the back of the RV. Prior to the trip start the host allowed us to ship the wheel chair ramp them. Not only did they accept the shipment they fully assembled the ramp and had it fully ready for us on arrival. We had arranged for pick up and drop of at SCL international months in advance. The day of travel American Airlines delayed us out of our home airport causing us to miss our connection. We are a party of 8 with 2 handicap and 3 kids. Separating our group was not an option with only 3 fully capable adults out of 8. AA could not get us on a flight from Dallas to SLC until the day after our rental was to be picked up. I was able to call the host to explain our situation. AA was unable to offer any suitable solutions for our party. The host suggested flying into a smaller airport 45 minutes below SLC named Pruvo. AA agents didn't know they flew into this airport. Upon the hosts suggestion the AA agents were able to find the entire group flights out of Dallas within the hour. The host volunteered to picked the RV up from SLC and have it at PRUVO by the time the flight was due to land. We are experienced RVer's therefore we intentionally planned our first night of the 2 week trip in the location of the owner. We discovered during set up that the wrong electrical cord was in the RV and the hot water heater was not providing hot water. We contacted the host and she personally brought the correct cord and arranged for us to take the RV to camping world the next day as they had serviced the unit prior to our rental. Both issues were easy fixes and no fault of the host, but were the errors of the service department of camping world. Once those fixes were done we were off. We spent 2 weeks between SLC , GTNP, YNP, and Wyoming. The unit had normal wear from the model, but operationally performed better than expected. We actually overestimated the fuel usage. The only thing that I would advise future renters is that the fridge barely maintains adequate cooling when not on electric or generator. This fact did require us to run the generator more than planned. However, I feel this is by design and not anything that needs "fixed". I would definitely rent from this host and this unit again.
