The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache-National Forest in northeastern Utah is home to the scenic Whitney Reservoir, a great location for a motorhome camping trip. This high mountain reservoir is located at an elevation of over 9000 feet, set in a beautiful landscape of mountain meadows and pines. One of the largest water bodies in the area, it covers close to 188 acres in surface area, with a depth of 70 feet at its maximum. The reservoir’s shoreline exceeds two and a half miles, and is owned by the Wasatch Cache National Forest and entirely open to public access. Renting an RV is a good way to travel around the area and travel to Whitney Reservoir. The last stretch of the approach to the reservoir is via a dirt road that is well maintained.
