Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA

One of the great aspects of the Pacific Northwest is that it has awesome indoor as well as outdoor attractions and if this is where you're headed, consider renting an RV in Winthrop and booking a site at Winthrop / N. Cascades National Park KOA. This family-owned and operated RV campground is located next to the Methow River and has access to it, as well as a stand of trees separating the park from the adjacent highway providing quiet and solitude. You and your traveling companions can enjoy the park's activities such as a playground, a horseshoe pitch, and the on-site gem mining that represents the area's mining history. If you want to head into Winthrop, leave your RV rental behind and take the park's shuttle bus instead.

Getting your rental motorhome set up is an easy task; you can choose between sites with full hookups or just water and electrical hookups. Once you arrive, you can use the laundry facilities to get ready for the days ahead, and there is a pet area where your canine companions can burn off some pent up energy from the trip. An on-site pool is available to you from approximately mid-May to mid-October. Firewood is available if you'd like to relax in the traditional camping way and you can rent bicycles to venture out a bit farther or go tubing in the Methow River if you'd like something more exciting than the pool.

Just a short distance outside of the campground, you'll find opportunities to hike or mountain bike the local trails or take a more leisurely stroll through the Okanogan National Forest. There is a golf course not far away where you can get in a quick nine or 18 holes; if you'd rather be browsing, the Methow Valley has designer stores and thrift shops, outdoor gear venues, cafes, and much more. Winthrop has an active city life which you'll enjoy, with concerts and farmers markets, vintage car shows, rodeos, and more. You can take a walking tour of the town and enjoy its wooden sidewalks and other frontier accessories that will take you back to the town's beginnings in the 1800s.
