The Purple Princess is a 1997 Winnebago/Volkswagen Class B motorhome. Some people say it's the best motorhome ever built. Only about 8000 of them were built before they were discontinued in 2005. This one has a very dependable, sweet-sounding Volkswagen 6-cyclinder motor, with excellent gas mileage, a low turning radius, and a host of amenities that say "Winnebago Quality." Its many features include a full-sized pull-down dining table, a very comfy pull-down queen-sized bed, two back benches, brand-new window coverings, and a TV. Although its propane system has been turned off because I don't think propane is safe to use, I have tried to make up for it by providing renters with two portable stoves and two thermoelectric coolers that you can plug into any of its three 12-volt outlets. It has AC in its cab area and a larger AC unit in the rear that runs on a heavy-duty, 20-foor shore power cable. It's a pleasure to drive, and is short enough that it's easy to park too. What's includedCookware, pots and pans, utensils, two thermoelectric coolers, two portable stoves, camping chairs, games (Scrabble, cribbage, etc.), cozy comforters, portable toilet.RecommendationsStart it up, drive it away, and relax! Some of the area's very nearby attractions include Pelee Island in Lake Erie (reachable by ferry), Fort Malden in historic Amherstberg, Point Pelee National Park, Rondeau and Pearce Provincial Parks, and a host of wineries dotted along Essex County's meandering country roads. Plus very easy access to Highway 401 or the Ambassador Bridge or the Windsor tunnel to the US. Other things to noteNo pets! No smoking!
