North Port is certainly not short of outdoor spaces, with four community parks and 10 neighborhood parks, as well as seven green space areas. All parks offer something a little different, so no matter what sort of outdoor space you are after, North Port has something for everyone. Myakkahatchee Creek Environment Park provides a real Old Florida nature experience filled with footbridges, wooded trails, and winding paths, the perfect place to walk Fido or go for a morning stroll. Garden of the Five Senses offers a little something different and has been designed to stimulate your sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste. Dispersed within the park are benches and mini-pavilions for total relaxation. Marina Park is where you have the opportunity for direct access to the Myakkahatchee Creek Waterway. Park your camper rental from North Port here and go explore. The park offers a boat ramp and ADA accessible docks, so you can enjoy the beauty of Florida’s landscape from the water. A few other notable parks in town include Blue Ridge Park, Marius Park, Warm Mineral Springs Park, and Pine Park. There truly is something for everyone. The town lies just beneath the huge Myakka River State Park, home to wildflower covered prairies, wetlands, and beautiful pinelands. This river flows through 58 square miles of one of Florida’s oldest and largest parks. Boating, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking are all popular activities.
