Tucked away amid rolling mountains, Jordanelle State Park is split into three distinct recreation areas. The activities and attractions you can enjoy within the park vary between these three areas: Hailstone. Located on the western edge of the reservoir, Hailstone is the most developed and best known area of Jordanelle State Park. If you're planning on taking a boat out or doing some fishing, this will probably be your first port of call. Here, you'll find an eight-lane boat launching ramp, an 80-slip marina, a fish cleaning station, boat rentals, a personal watercraft launching ramp, and a whole lot more. The reservoir is filled by the Provo River, and its waters are home to trout, perch, bass, and many other species. Water skiing and jet skiing are also quite popular pastimes in the park, and you'll see plenty of other craft out on the water during the busy summer months. Rock Cliff. Tucked away on the reservoir's southeastern shore, the Rock Cliff recreation area is much less developed than Hailstone and is worth visiting if you're looking for a quieter way to experience the great outdoors. Here, you'll find a single-lane boat ramp for vessels 16 feet or shorter, and which can only be used during the early weeks of summer. As a result, it's the perfect spot to launch a kayak or stand-up paddleboard and enjoy a leisurely paddle in beautiful surroundings. Fishing is once again popular here, while the nearby Nature Center will help kids learn all about the plants and animals that call the park home. There are also several hiking trails to choose from in this area of the park. An elevated boardwalk leads through sage and wetland areas, while the three-quarter-mile Three Rocks Trail offers great water views. Ross Creek. Located on the reservoir's northern shore, the Ross Creek Trailhead is the place to go if you want easy access to the Jordanelle State Park Perimeter Trail. This trail leads towards Hailstone in one direction, and to Rock Creek in the other, covering 15.5 miles in total. The Wada Way and Keetley loop trails are also accessible here, offering a further three miles of hiking. Anglers also love this spot because it's within easy reach of the excellent bass fishing on offer in the north arm of the reservoir.
