Blount County calls itself the “Covered Bridge Capital of Alabama.” Easley Covered Bridge in Oneonta is one such bridge. The bridge was constructed in 1927 and has remained operational since then, except for a few years in which it was closed for repairs. The bridge is open to pedestrians and automobile traffic. There are other covered bridges in Blount County. They make for interesting stops on a walking or driving tour. Swann Covered Bridge in Cleveland, AL, is another such bridge.
