If you feel like stretching your legs, scenic hiking and mountain biking trails wind through the park. Joe Wheeler State Park is a paradise for boaters, with colorful sailboats and yachts dotting the sparkling waters. Pontoon boats are available to rent from the marina and are a fantastic way to soak up the sunshine. Alternatively, rent a kayak or canoe and enjoy a leisurely paddle around the shoreline. The oxygen-rich waters of Wheeler Dam make it a hotspot for smallmouth bass. You could also reel in catfish, crappie, striped bass, and bream – perfect for frying up back at your RV rental. Golfers will jump at the chance to tee off at the 18-hole championship golf course. It was designed by iconic Alabama architect Earl Stone and features challenging holes set among rolling hills and the scenic Tennessee River. The course is part of a game park, so watch for deer grazing on the greens. There's also a popular disc golf course with 18 baskets.
