Washington County Public Lake is, as the name indicates, a public lake in Alabama. The nearest town is Millry, which is about two miles away from the lake. Washington County is located in southwest Alabama, not far from the Mississippi border. Washington County is named for President George Washington and was incorporated in 1800 when Alabama was still part of the Mississippi Territory. This fact makes Washington County the first county incorporated in the state of Alabama.
