On hot days or after spending the morning mining for diamonds, cool off at the Diamond Springs Water Park. This mining themed water park is perfect for everyone in the family. Fun features include a large wading pool with animated water spouts, water slides, and a waterfall hideaway. While you’re camping at Crater of Diamonds State Park, you’ll want to get an early start digging for diamonds on the 37-acre eroded surface of an ancient volcanic crater. You’ll learn the three most common methods for searching for a diamond. Any diamonds you find are yours to keep, and the park staff will identify and register the diamonds found at the park. You can rent mining equipment at the Diamond Discovery Center, or you can bring your own, although no heavy, commercial equipment is allowed. Once you’ve tired of searching for diamonds, fishing along the banks of the Little Missouri River is a peaceful way to end the day. Some of the best trout fishing can be found right below the Lake Greeson Dam on the Little Missouri River. An Arkansas fishing license is required and can be obtained at the visitors’ center.
