Getting Outdoors

RV camping at Mallard Lake will give you unbridled access to all public facilities and recreational opportunities not only at Mallard Lake but in the greater Big Lake Wildlife Management Area, too. Mallard Lake is home to great fishing spots, and the on-site boat launch makes it easy to fish both from the shore and on the water. Common fish caught in the lake include large and smallmouth bass, crappie, catfish, redear sunfish, and bluegills.

Camping at Mallard Lake

Unfortunately, there are no state park RV campgrounds on-site at Mallard Lake, so campers will have to park their rental RVs in neighboring RV campgrounds to stay the night. Some of the closest campgrounds can be found to the east of the park, with Willow RV Park being the largest of that collection. Willow RV Park is home to over 50 RV campsites, with 3 of those being pull-through sites. All sites are equipped with both 30 and 50 amp service, in addition to water, sewer, and WiFi.

Exploring the Area

Jonesboro is home to Arkansas State University, so be sure to park your RV and walk throughout the campus. There are many historic and preserved buildings to explore, and when you stop by the main campus office ahead of time, you’ll be able to arrange for information on what specific buildings to see and why. Stretching your legs while exploring campus is a great way to take a break from camping while still enjoying the outdoors.

We liked how there was a door to the bedroom. It rained like crazy much of the trip, and there were no leaks. It was great to have a vacuum and other cleaning items. Ryan provided exceptional customer service. We will rent from him again!
