Experience the Sites and Scenery

It may be surrounded by inhospitable desert but the scenery of Southern California is stunning, even far away from the famous coastlines of Los Angeles and San Diego. Red Rock Canyon State Park is a prime example of magnificent desert beauty found in an excellent little park. There are almost 30,000 acres of desert nature preserves at the park, which contains hundreds of interesting wildlife types despite looking barren and devoid of life. You can hike through the area to several natural landmarks and geological formations in a location that has been used for countless Hollywood movie productions. There are two campgrounds that you may utilize when you arrive in your Barstow motorhome rental too.

Where to Park It

When you do decide to rent an RV in Barstow, several campgrounds in the nearby area can accommodate you and your Barstow camper rental. Shady Lane RV Camp is a basic campground with all the essentials like water, bathrooms, electricity, and internet, and it is mostly a park used by through-travelers in RVs. Newberry RV Park is found in a convenient setting with a refreshing pool and spacious campsites. Calico Ghost Town is an old west mining town founded in the latter half of the 19th century, with plenty of old buildings preserved to make the town feel frozen in time. This fun tourism getaway has its very own campground for you to use when you rent an RV in Barstow. Barstow/Calico KOA belongs to the KOA chain of campgrounds found throughout the country. The park has its very own snack bar, convenience store, pool, and much more.

City Attractions

Barstow is merely a small town in the desert but it surprises most with its quaint downtown and bevy of educational museums. The Mojave River Valley Museum is a fascinating place to learn about the town and region’s history, dating back to before the arrival of the settlers when the Paiute, Chemehuevi, and Mojave natives dominated the land. There are a wealth of objects and photographs on display to paint an elaborate picture of the past.

What a gem! And what generous, thoughtful, friendly renters. This RV couldn't have been more perfect. It got us from California to Idaho and through 2 National Parks with no problems. The renters Mary and Tom have equiped it with everything you could ever need. Toilet paper, Kleenex, first aid kit, paper towels, cooking supplies, utensils and paper plates/bowls, bath towels, bedding, etc. All you need is your clothes and you are good to go. The entire Outdoorsy check in/check out is a breeze. Mary and Tom have exceptional communication. They were super responsive and available 24/7. We could never begin to thank them enough. They offer a generous milage allowance per day and have no hidden cost or fees. They accepted our 2 kitties with open arms. It was their RV and kindness that made our trip so amazing. We couldn't find anything on RVezy and this was our first time using Outdoorsy. This RV was literally the first one I came across and it was a miracle. Don't hesitate to book with Mary and Tom. They make sure their beautiful RV is sparkling clean and safe with all up to date maintenance before you head out. They really care about people making memories and having fun.

We loved the trailer and it was just the right size for the four of us. Had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the outside grill. Alfred and his wife are very helpful and accommodating.
