June Lake is essentially an outdoor mecca nestled in the mountains of eastern California, beckoning adventurous people from all over the country. Whether you enjoy backcountry trekking, rock climbing, skiing, or fishing, there is a place for you within driving distance of June Lake. Inyo National Forest is a natural place to start, considering it surrounds June Park on all sides. The forest is loaded with natural landmarks, like Pahoa Island in Mono Lake, and Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the contiguous United States. This incredible forest is home to the world’s oldest trees too, with bristlecone trees thought to be thousands of years old. While Inyo National Forest holds the eastern slopes of Mount Whitney, the western slopes of the mountain fall in Sequoia National Park, another one of California’s epic parks. Sequoia National Park is named for the sequoia trees found throughout its forests, one of the two most massive species of tree on the planet. Together with Sequoia National Forest, the two entities make up well over a million and a half acres of pristine land in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Michael and Abby were helpful, informative and lovely hosts. The trailer was exactly as described. We were grateful for the products that they provided such as dish rags and pillows, which we had forgot. We would absolutely rent from them again!

Extremely pleased with our experience at Outdoorsy Bass Lake. Phenomenal location on the Pines Resort side of the lake, which allowed us to easily partake in the fun holiday festivities they had going on there. The facility itself was very well maintained, bathrooms were immaculate, etc. we arrived the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving and it was relatively quiet there with lots of open spaces. By the time we left on Sunday, it had definitely gotten busy and I could see how the spaces could be very cramped because they definitely fit a lot in there. However, the camp host did a really great job at spreading everybody out the best they could. I’m not sure if it’s mentioned or not but there’s also a basketball court and they have a basketball available in the rec room, so that kept my brood of boys busy. I usually host Thanksgiving every year and we decided to do things a little different this year and our family of five will never do it the same again. Super grateful to have the opportunity to make memories with my family. 10/10 recommend!
