Outside of the small city of Santa Rosa in California is the unincorporated community of Kenwood. The village has been continually inhabited since the late 19th century, and possibly earlier as the land was located on a Mexican land grant.

Like much of Sonoma County, Kenwood is known for its world-class wine, much like the adjacent Napa County. Spectacular rolling vineyards are a common sight in the area and much of the tourism is centered on the wine industry that thrives to this day in Northern California due to its Mediterranean climate. You can book an RV in Kenwood and take a tour of the many different vineyards and wineries in the area or head down to San Francisco to see the famous Bay Area. State parks surround Kenwood in several directions and much of Northern California's unparalleled natural beauty is just a short drive away when you rent an RV and take a road trip.

Outdoors Adventures

It can be quite difficult to plot out your destinations when planning your tour of Northern California as there are so many incredible places to take into consideration. State parks, national forests, recreation areas, and national parks are prevalent in the Golden State so it's all about figuring out what your ideal place might be like. Trione-Annadel State Park is between Santa Rosa and Kenwood and is extraordinarily easy to get to in your Kenwood camper rental. The park was once home to the Wappo and Pomo indigenous peoples and is known for its stunning wildflowers and obsidian volcanic features. The park is best enjoyed by hiking or mountain biking its many trails, and fishing is a popular pastime too. Sugarloaf Ridge State Park is on the other side of Kenwood to the east, with two large peaks that you can climb up for exciting views of the surrounding valleys dotted with vineyards. Over 25 miles of trails carry visitors through magnificent forests, and hiking, biking, and horseback riding are some of the best ways to see the park. When you bring your Kenwood motorhome rental to the park you can also catch a glimpse of some of its towering seasonal waterfalls.

Clear Lake State Park is north of Kenwood and sits on the shores of massive Clear Lake, a 68-square mile body of water among the oldest in North America. Watersports such as boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, jet skiing, wakeboarding, and waterskiing are delightful ways to enjoy the lake. Clear Lake is also one of the best fishing spots in all of California due to its immense supply of bass and trout. There is also a marina, a swimming beach with showers, and hundreds of campsites spread over four campgrounds, a lovely place to park your Kenwood RV rental.

If you feel as though you need to see some of California’s iconic coastline while you visit the Golden State, take your Kenwood camper rental to Point Reyes National Seashore which is just north of San Francisco. This pristine wilderness envelopes a massive stretch of coastline, with untouched and undeveloped beaches shielded by the forest around it. Hiking through the ancient woods and atop the rocky bluffs that overlook the ocean can be quite magical and there are a variety of different natural treasures to see throughout the seashore. Hidden waterfalls and private beaches are located throughout Point Reyes and there are a few places to camp when you rent an RV and bring it to the park.

RV Parks to Visit

As is the case with most of the state, Kenwood is an easy place to rent an RV in and find a place to park it for the night.
