Outdoors Adventures

If you make the decision to rent an RV anywhere near the Pacific Ocean in coastal California, you are in for a treat. The beaches alone are responsible for a great deal of the region’s tourism, and it’s not surprising once you visit them for yourself. Salinas River State Beach is quite close to town and more than deserving of a visit if you are wondering where to go in your Spreckels camper rental. The beach is located on Highway 1 outside of Moss Landing and has miles of rugged coastline to stroll along while gazing out onto the Pacific Ocean. This beach park is not ideal for swimming due to turbulent waters but expert swimmers and surfers can still make use of the surf there. There are interesting shipwrecks offshore that you can see or photograph, along with beautiful sunsets.

RV Parks to Visit

You won’t have much trouble locating parks and campgrounds to stay at when you rent an RV near Spreckels, but you might have difficulty choosing which one works best for you. Moss Landing KOA Express belongs to a national chain of campgrounds and has features like scenic coastal hikes and fishing areas along the water. Salinas/Monterey KOA Campground also belongs to the same chain and has amenities to keep you occupied during your stay. The park’s pool is open year-round so beating the sweltering summer heat is not a problem.

City Sightseeing

The town of Spreckels is essentially a subset of Salinas so all worthwhile attractions, restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, and other places of interest are more likely to be found in the larger town center. The Steinbeck House is a gorgeous Victorian house which belonged to the family of legendary American author, John Steinbeck. Steinbeck was born in the house over 100 years ago and the home has been preserved to honor him. Some volunteers created a gift shop, restaurant, and small museum to bring in money so they could continue to take care of the cherished Victorian house. The National Steinbeck Center is another facility devoted to the legacy of John Steinbeck, with awesome exhibits, priceless artifacts from his life, and on-stage theatrical productions in an intimate theater. This tribute to one of America’s greatest writers has a restaurant and shop of its own as well.

This van was fantastic. It fits so much in the small space and does it well. It drives easily and switching from the sleeping set up to the driving set up was quick and simple. Storage was easy to organize because of the magnetic removable crates. Overall a great experience that is shaping what I want to have when I (hopefully) get my own van

Andrei is an incredible host! His walkthrough was thorough and gave our group confidence in handling the vehicle, and his communication was clear and proactive. The RV worked perfectly. Would highly recommend renting from Andrei!

We had our first camping trip as a family of 4 in Robert's RV and had the best time. Robert was awesome to work with, questions, pick up, drop off, all great. We were very comfortable and had everything and more we needed in the RV. Took some time getting used to driving it but we took it slow and easy and it made the trip even more enjoyable. Thanks for everything Robert and we hope to do it all again!
