RV Rental Wildwood Canyon State Park, CA

One of the major features for folks who are RV camping at Wildwood Canyon State Park to enjoy is the extensive hiking trails. These trails can be accessed from a few different trailheads, and the diverse collection of trails means that both beginner and veteran hikers can find something they’ll enjoy. Some of the trails lead to sweeping panoramic views, which certainly make the hard climb worth it once you’ve reached the top.

Horseback riding is also permitted inside of the state park, so if possible, be sure to hitch your horse trailer to the back of your rental RV before heading out. The trails used by equestrians are the same as those used by hikers, so pay attention to signage while exploring. As some of the trails travel along ridges and possibly lose footing, it is recommended that only experienced equestrians explore these more challenging parts of the park on horseback.

Other activities to enjoy while motorhome camping at the park includes geocaching, wildlife viewing, nature viewing, picnicking, and exploring the cultural and historical points of interest. Geocaches can be found throughout the park, so bring a charged phone or GPS device and seek out some of the hard to find caches. While hiking and geocaching, keep your eyes peeled for wildlife, as many birds and land animals call this park home.

Although there are no state park RV campgrounds at Wildwood Canyon State Park, a privately owned and operated RV campground just south of the park is easy to access when renting an RV to camp in the area. This campground, known as the Country Hills RV Park, has more than 70 RV campsites for guests to choose from. Some of the campsites have an option to pull-through, but the majority of them require you to back into the spot.

Between the various campsites, you’ll find both 30 and 50 amp electrical hookups, water hookups, and a centrally located dump station. There is also a swimming pool and spa that is shared by all the guests, in addition to public showers with hot water, toilets that flush, and wifi. An enclosed dog park can be found on campground property, so feel free to bring your four-legged best friend while camping with an RV here.

The town of Beaumont, which is south of the state park, is one of the closest towns to visit when seeking modern amenities and conveniences. This town is one of the dozens in the area and has a diverse collection of restaurants, cafes, shops, and modern entertainment options like movie theaters and museums. When you’ve exhausted your options in Beaumont, drive to any of the other nearby towns for more attractions.

Surrounding the park are many museums, including the Old Fire Station Museum, the Mousley Museum of Yucaipa History, the Edward-Dean Museum & Gardens, the Oak Glen School Museum, and the Providential Heritage Academy. Between these museums, you’ll find exhibits on local history, local residents, and many artifacts that tell the story of both. More museums can be found by heading west toward larger cities like San Bernardino and Los Angeles.

It would be a wasted opportunity to camp in an RV near Los Angeles and not visit this great American city. Los Angeles is filled with dozens upon dozens of exciting things to keep the whole family entertained, including but not limited to miles of beaches along the Pacific Ocean. In Los Angeles, you’ll find the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, the International Printing Museum, the American Military Museum, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the Richard Nixon Library & Museum, and many more.
