The Great Outdoors

Crawford State Park is the closest park to town, just several minutes’ drive south of Hotchkiss. Most of the park revolves around the Crawford Reservoir, with boat ramps, swimming areas, beaches, and fishing spots along the water’s edge. There are a few miles of hiking trails circling the lake, as well as a visitor’s center and a campground where you can stay with your Hotchkiss camper rental.

This highly informative museum operates out of the downtown area, loaded with amazing antiques, pictures, and exhibits concerning the founding of the two towns. The knowledgeable docents at the museum are happy to spend their time explaining and describing the history of the town.
